Kenworth building hydrogen fuel tractor for drayage use

Manufacturer is also developing hybrid-electric vehicles for use in Southern California.

LONG BEACH, CA. Kenworth Truck Co. is developing a Class 8 hydrogen fuel cell tractor for use at Southern California ports.

The truck manufacturer said at the Advanced Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo the T680 day cab model will be ready for initial testing before the end of 2017.

SelecTrucks announces commitment to veterans

SelecTrucks recently announced a new discount program for military veterans at 24 SelecTrucks Centers throughout the United States and Canada.

In support of “Hiring our Heroes,” veterans of the United States and Canadian military are now eligible to receive a discount of up to $3,500 on qualifying vehicle purchases through the Proud to Serve Veterans Discount. The discount program runs through Dec. 31, 2017. In order to use this discount program, customers must provide documentation to prove military service.

Oil prices give up gains, U.S. output weighs against OPEC-led cuts

Oil prices gave up early gains on Monday, as the market weighed news from OPEC and other producers about prolonging output cuts against data showing the recovery in U.S. drilling had extended for a year. U.S. light crude was also little moved at $46.28 a barrel, down from a intra-day high of $46.98. OPEC meets on May 25 when it is expected to discuss extending the cuts to the end of 2017, although analysts say a further six-month extension may not be enough.
