Electronic Arts Puts the Battle-Royale Mode in Battlefield Game

In a nod to the remarkable success of the every-man-for-himself shooter game Fortnite, Electronic Arts Inc. said it will include a battle-royale mode in its upcoming Battlefield V game. The move follows a similar announcement by Activision Blizzard Inc. for its next version of Call of Duty, also due out in October. Fortnite, made by closely held Epic Games, has become a cultural phenomenon since its release last year, attracting more than 45 million players worldwide and causing the video-game industry to rethink its game designs and business models.

U.S. President Donald Trump railed against trade practices he called unfair to the United States at a Group of Seven nations summit where leaders agreed on Saturday to fight protectionism and reform the World Trade Organization. "We're like the piggy bank that everybody is robbing," Trump said at a press conference shortly before leaving the gathering of the United States, Canada, Great Britain, France, Italy, Germany and Japan. German Chancellor Angela Merkel acknowledged differences between the United States and the six other members of the G7 remained, but said a joint statement on trade was expected to be issued at the end of the two-day summit in La Malbaie, Quebec.

Exiting a world summit with characteristic bravado, President Donald Trump delivered a stark warning Saturday to America's trading partners not to counter his decision to impose tariffs on steel and aluminum imports. Despite his sharp differences with U.S. allies, the president insisted he has a "great relationship" with his foreign counterparts.
