The truth is more complicated, with a person familiar with Microsoft’s thinking telling us that the company’s bet on Windows 10 S hasn’t changed, and that it’s all about semantics. Windows 10 S is a streamlined version of Windows that brings better performance and battery life, at the cost of only being able to install software from the Windows Store.
