NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–lt;a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/MDSO?src=hash" target="_blank"gt;#MDSOlt;/agt;–Medidata (NASDAQ: MDSO) corporate social responsibility (CSR) and diversity and belonging programs continue to earn honors as they make a difference for patients, employees, and the environment.

Recent recognition includes:

  • Barron’s named Medidata to its annual list of the 100 Most Sustainable Companies in the U.S. for a second year in a row. The award considers the company’s positive impact in five categories: shareholders, employees, customers, community, and the planet
  • The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) gave Medidata a perfect score in its 2018 Corporate Equality Index. The index is a national benchmarking tool on corporate policies and practices pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer employees
  • Medidata CTO Julie Iskow was named to the Top 50 Women in Tech by the National Diversity Conference

“These honors recognize our company’s dedication to creating a better world through our CSR program, which closely aligns with our mission. I’m proud of our activities and diverse culture in which employees feel encouraged, included, and inspired as outstanding citizens at work and in their communities,” said Tarek Sherif, CEO and co-founder, Medidata.

The company’s corporate responsibility program is based upon three pillars: “access for all” to provide all patients access to treatment, STEM education, and gender equality. Medidata and its employees are actively creating a better world in areas such as:

  • Transparency: Medidata issued its first CSR report in 2018, meeting Global Reporting Initiatives (GRI) standards
  • Community events: The company hosted over 100 CSR events across the globe in 2018 and offers employees a free volunteer day every year
  • Conservation: Medidata’s London office recently became the first in the UK to receive LEED v.4 Gold Certification. Medidata also partnered with local authorities on a parklet project in the Hammersmith neighborhood. The project received a Healthy Streets Award in the UK for creating a more sustainable environment
  • Diversity and belonging: The 2018 NEXT NYC Hackathon focused on developing tools that helped improve diversity in clinical trials. The winning team developed a dashboard using statistical models that allowed sponsors to view how well their trials achieve patient diversity
