HID Global Fingerprint Reader is Recognized by the SIA, World’s Top Industry Association for Physical Security Solutions
AUSTIN, Texas–(BUSINESS WIRE)–lt;a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Award?src=hash" target="_blank"gt;#Awardlt;/agt;–HID Global®, a worldwide leader in trusted identity solutions, today announced that the company’s iCLASS SE® RB25F fingerprint reader is a winner in the Security Industry Association (SIA) New Product Showcase (NPS) program, announced annually during the ISC West Conference. Recognized in the user authentication, identification, credentialing and management category, HID Global’s fingerprint reader is designed to help fuel broad adoption of biometrics at the door through its combination of credential excellence and globally-patented multispectral imaging technology.
“This is a major validation of our fingerprint reader from the industry’s leading trade association for global security solution providers,” said Harm Radstaak, Vice President and Managing Director of Physical Access Control Solutions with HID Global. “Our new reader has been singled out from a very large group of hardware and software products that use biometric and other authentication technologies along with credential management solutions across a wide variety of use cases. It is uniquely positioned to help bring biometrics to a wide range of real-life physical access control applications and environments.”
Introduced at ISC West, HID Global’s reader captures and reads fingerprints that other devices cannot by acquiring images from both the surface and sub-surface of the skin. It delivers consistent, best-in-class biometric performance regardless of environmental and skin conditions, and offers superior fraud protection of trusted liveness detection, anti-tamper safeguards, and other security features. Its HID Biometric Manager™ on-promise software tool is used to configure and manage one or many of the readers and can also be used to securely log all door events.
The SIA NPS is the security industry’s premier awards-based program. The NPS was established in 1979 to recognize innovative products, services and solutions in electronic physical security. Technologies showcased through this program are used in the protection of life and property in residential, commercial and institutional settings.
