LAS VEGAS. Lytx announced new enhancements to its DriveCam video-based telematics safety program that Chairman and CEO Brandon Nixon said “will streamline workflow, capture even more unsafe driving behaviors, and make fleet tracking easier for fleet managers on the go.”

The announcement was made on Oct. 2 here at the American Trucking Associations' Management Conference & Exhibition. Nixon noted that the company also recently unveiled its new “video-without-limits” Unisyn platform as well as ActiveVision service updates.

"We have deep partnerships with our clients, and they're our best collaborators in the DriveCam program's evolution," said Nixon. "We are constantly looking for new ways to make their tough jobs easier, and to make the time they have with their drivers more effective."

Nixon said that Lytx has developed and patented a new way for fleets to identify when their drivers go through a posted stop sign without coming to a complete stop. He said the new Rolling Stop trigger will initiate video capture for use by fleets in coaching the driver to help eliminate the behavior.

Lytx has also developed a new Roll Stability trigger, which Nixon called “an innovative way for fleets to identify when their drivers are triggering their third-party roll-stability system, indicating that driving behavior, such as speed, and/or road conditions are inconsistent with the load the driver is hauling.” The triggered and captured video can be used by fleets in coaching drivers to help decrease the likelihood of rollover events.

In addition, Lytx announced its new Mobile Fleet Tracking solution, which allows tracking and managing vehicles from any mobile device. Nixon said the solution, designed with an intuitive map interface, enables:

LAS VEGAS. Vigillo LLC and J. J. Keller & Associates, Inc. have partnered to launch a Prescriptive Analytics Solution that identifies unsafe behavior by truck drivers and then assigns training designed to address the issues, announced Vigillo CEO Steven Bryan on Oct. 2 here at the American Trucking Associations' Management Conference & Exhibition.

Bryan explained that solution leverages the data that Vigillo routinely gathers from over 500,000 truck drivers to diagnose driver behavior that may lead to unsafe operations.

For example, he said that CSA violation data from law enforcement is combined with critical event data from on-board technology to create “a rich profile of driver behavior.”

The resulting “map of risky behavior” is then matched with subject matter from the extensive J. J. Keller Training On Demand library of interactive driver training courses to remediate those unsafe behaviors, Bryan explained.

“Identifying training opportunities, then deploying a training solution virtually in real time, is just another example of taking the power of data and turning it into actionable solutions,” said Bryan. “We are thrilled to be working with J. J. Keller on this innovative use of our technology.”

“This partnership taps into our companies' core strengths — safety training for J. J. Keller and data mining for Vigillo — to improve driver safety,” Rustin Keller, executive vice president & COO of J. J. Keller noted in a statement. “And that's really what it's all about.”

LAS VEGAS. Velociti Inc., a provider of technology deployment and support services, announced its new VelociCare program for post-deployment maintenance support of on-board technologies, including ELDs, on Oct. 2 here at the American Trucking Associations' Management Conference & Exhibition.

VelociCare “proactive system health monitoring, hardware repair, and replacement and system upgrades,” said Deryk Powell, Velociti president. “Velociti is the first and only company to provide a formal program for providing maintenance support of on-board technologies after deployment.

“With the ELD mandate and the rapid growth of the connected vehicle, prioritized maintenance of on-board technology is essential,” he continued. “The consequences of non-functioning equipment are far worse than just not meeting ROI projections.”

VelociCare is a subscription-based support program, providing customers with set pricing and the ability to accurately budget for on-board technology support. The program can be customized based on a wide range of categories, but Powell noted it always includes its “one-of-a-kind proactive system health monitoring feature.”

The proactive feature automatically monitors real-time information about the performance of the supported technology and allows Velociti to resolve any situation quickly, based on the severity of the issue and the customer's preferences. For example, a malfunctioning ELD in a long-haul scenario is scheduled for repair as soon as possible, whereas an issue such as a system settings adjustment on a local-delivery scenario is typically addressed upon return of its delivery schedule for the day. In all cases, Velociti guarantees completion timeframes with a service-level agreement.

“The proactive nature of VelociCare allows for technology problems to be addressed before they get out of hand and become even more costly for the carrier,” Powell said. “We're helping our customers eliminate the hidden downtime between system failure, ...Read the rest of this story
