RESTON, Va. & WALNUT CREEK, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–ASG, a portfolio company of Alpine Investors that buys and builds vertical SaaS companies, today announced that it has acquired Trucker Tools, the market leading digital freight management platform that provides capacity management, predictive freight matching, automated booking, real-time GPS-based visibility and digital workflow solutions for the transportation industry.

This deal marks ASG’s 35th acquisition to date, and the continuation of its investment in the logistics space.

Headquartered in Reston, Va., Trucker Tools was founded in 2013 by Prasad Gollapalli. With nearly 20 years of experience in management and product strategy with trucking and shipping software companies, Prasad was motivated to build an accurate shipment tracking solution for drivers, owner-operators and small fleets that provides capabilities for a driver to book load shipments straight from their phones. He brought on Murali Yellepeddy who has 20 years of experience in building and delivering enterprise-grade, highly concurrent, customizable mobile and web platform applications built for both iOS and Android devices.

The two then expanded the platform’s scope to address additional driver needs and deepen their digital connection with freight brokers. Trucker Tools subsequently launched predictive, digital freight matching and automated one-click booking, streamlining how brokers find available trucks, and enabling drivers to prioritize, select and book loads straight from their phones. Over 300 freight brokers are on the platform today, along with more than 1.3 million truckers on the mobile booking and tracking app.

Trucker Tools will also welcome Jesse Buckingham, a former executive at two high growth logistics technology businesses, as Chief Revenue Officer.
