Widened Panama Canal opens with ceremonial tug through new locks
Ten years after Panamanians approved plans to expand the country’s 102-year-old canal, tens of thousands looked on this week to see a Chinese-owned, 984-foot-long neopanamax container vessel enter and depart the newly widened passageway.
