In 2006 aerodynamic devices had not penetrated the trailer market much at all. What a difference a decade makes. During July, I spent a few weeks working at a few companies in Colorado - one week spent at Rocky Mountain Institute a partner in our trucking efficiency work. My wife and I decided to drive the 2,200-mile roundtrip on I70 from Indianapolis to Denver. So, what did we do on that long lonely highway to pass the time? Of course we did, we counted the aerodynamics devices on 5,000 tractor trailers. And what we found even surprised me.

So the annual list of the 10 most stolen vehicles compiled by the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) came out today and once again, pickup trucks made by the “Detroit Three” rank high on the list.
But not just any pickup truck models, mind you; older model pickups, ones 10 years or older to be exact, are the ones vehicle thieves focused on in 2015.

It's well known that obstructive sleep apnea or “OSA” is considered a major health risk for truck drivers. Indeed, a recent survey of 800 commercial vehicle operators by the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI) revealed almost one-third of them (28%) suffer from mild to severe sleep apnea – a number that could actually be higher, the group stressed, since sleep apnea is often unrecognized and undiagnosed.
