PARIS/DUBLIN, June 13 (Reuters) - European low-cost airline Ryanair is in talks with Boeing about placing an order for its proposed new 737 MAX 10 airliner, two people familiar with the matter said on Tuesday. Boeing is expected to launch what would become the largest version of its 737 MAX medium-haul family, designed to challenge the popular Airbus A321 flown by Ryanair rivals, at the opening of the Paris air show next week.

Blue Ink Technology has announced that it is offering an electronic logging device solution with a smart device app, online portal, and device that plugs into a truck's diagnostic port.
The BIT ELD app is designed to work with a driver's smartphone or tablet and connects to a device attached to the diagnostic port. The BIT ELD is registered with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration to be compliant with the upcoming ELD mandate.
“We try to make it as user-friendly an experience as possible,” said Chris Riegel, chief technology officer at Blue Ink Technology. “Research shows that the average age of drivers is somewhere between 50 – 60 years old and many of them are still using flip phones. We wanted to make everything in the BIT ELD app very easy to use.”
The BIT ELD app collects and stores hours of service logs and gives fleets the ability to view, edit and certify them. The app displays how many hours are left in a work cycle before a required break, and logs can be shared through email.
The information is stored in an online portal where drivers can access their logs from multiple carriers if needed, perform daily vehicle inspection and track work hours. Fleet managers and dispatchers can view logs for all drivers, check route histories, and receive notifications of driving violations.
The BIT ELD can be installed with no tools by plugging it into the vehicle's 6-pin or 9-pin diagnostic port. The device collects vehicle data and transmits it wirelessly to your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet.
Instead of monthly charges or contracts, Blue Ink Technology's solution comes with a one-time fee. The solution is aimed at owner-operators and small- to medium-sized fleets.

">The City of Sacramento, California, says it will run one of the first all-electric garbage trucks on regular routes in the area.
The automated left side loader garbage truck features a Motiv Power Systems all-electric powertrain, built on a Crane Carrier chassis with a body built by Loadmaster. The city plans to run the truck on residential and recycling routes throughout the city.
Sacramento specified that the truck must be able to meet the same demands placed on all of its garbage trucks, including running three routes per day to remove trash, recycling, and green waste in a downtown neighborhood.
“The City of Sacramento intends to prove that all-electric refuse trucks are the future of the industry, and we anticipate igniting that trend."
“Reducing harmful vehicle emissions in the Sacramento region is a primary focus of our sustainability policy, and the most effective way to achieve that goal is to implement electric vehicles into our fleet," said Mark Stevens, fleet manager for Sacramento. “The City of Sacramento intends to prove that all-electric refuse trucks are the future of the industry, and we anticipate igniting that trend."
The truck is equipped with 10 battery packs, expandable to 12 packs for future route expansion. Using Motiv's Universal High Power Charger, the vehicle's batteries will reach full charge overnight. Sacramento expects to save as much as 6,000 gallons of fuel per year, with the electric truck replacing a conventional diesel refuse truck that averages 2.8 mpg.
