Amazon/Whole Foods deal piques U.S. interest in Ocado
British online grocer Ocado has seen a pick-up in enquiries from U.S. supermarket groups interested in possible partnership deals in the wake of Amazon's $13.7 billion (10.59 billion pounds) deal to buy Whole Foods, its boss said on Wednesday. Ocado Chief Executive Tim Steiner said Amazon's purchase of the upmarket grocer had made existing bricks and mortar supermarket players in the United States think harder about the competition they will be facing in the coming years. "Therefore we've seen increased interest in our (technology) solution from players in the U.S.," he said after Ocado reported a 2.7 percent rise in first half core earnings.
More Ram 1500 luxury upgrades for 2018 revealed
Ram Truck is introducing several new factory-built custom packages for the 2018 model Ram 1500 pickup.
The first is a new Big Horn Black package offered exclusively in black, with all-black exterior features including a black grille, black badging, black wheels and black headlamp bezels.
The second – available only in Texas – is a new Lone Star Black package for 2018 Ram 1500 models.
Ram said both its new Big Horn and Lone Star Black models start at $44,290 plus a $1,395 destination charge.
