National HIPAA Summit Session: New Approaches to Administrative Transactions

28th National HIPAA Summit, March 4-6, 2019 in
Washington, D.C. John Kelly, principal business advisor at Edifecs, will
lead the session, “FHIR Based API’s: A New Approach to Administrative
Transactions.”
In this session, Kelly will offer perspective on growing use of FHIR to
support the exchange of patient information between payers and
providers. His presentation will include information regarding how
health information technology experts are working together toward
accelerating adoption of HL7® FHIR® as the standard to support and
integrate value-based care data exchange across communities. The value
of incorporating clinical data into the administrative processes
supporting care delivery can resolve many of the healthcare industry’s
business challenges from care coordination to medical documentation.

WHO: John Kelly, Principal Business Advisor at Edifecs, is a

Massachusetts’ statewide HIE project, developing a shared infrastructure
for the Commonwealth, which supported both the health information
exchange and health insurance exchanges.
