XL Hybrids awarded DOE Small Business Vouchers Pilot

XL Hybrids announced the company has been awarded with test funding from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Small Business Vouchers Pilot (SBV). Testing validation and analysis of its XL3 Hybrid Electric Drive System for Reach walk-in commercial vans will be performed at Argonne National Laboratory. The goal of the SBV is to overcome specific technical challenges and drive the nation's clean energy economy toward greater commercial success, according to the company.

EIA: Fuel prices see slight regional shifts

Overall, though, national retail diesel and gasoline prices drop down a bit for the week.

The national retail pump prices for both diesel and gasoline declined overall this week, though they experienced slight fluctuations on a regional basis in the U.S., according to data tracked by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

Diesel dropped 2/10ths of a penny this week to $2.407 per gallon, the agency noted, which is 12.7 cents per gallon cheaper compared to the same week in 2015.
