Venezuela keeps voting stations open amid light turnout

Voting centers across Venezuela's capital appeared largely empty during Sunday's presidential election, and authorities kept polling stations open past the official closing time while government officials offered assurances that millions turned out to vote early. Opposition leaders said the lifeless voting centers were evidence that Venezuelans heeded their call to abstain from voting in an election they contended was certain to be rigged in favor of socialist President Nicolas Maduro.

The Latest: Justice Department asks IG to widen probe of FBI

The Justice Department has asked its inspector general to determine whether there was any impropriety or political motivation in how the FBI conducted its counterintelligence investigation of persons suspected of involvement with Russian agents who interfered in the presidential election. A department statement came Sunday after President Donald Trump tweeted that he would "demand" that the DOJ open an investigation into whether the FBI infiltrated his presidential campaign for political purposes.

David Tepper's advice to graduating Carnegie Mellon University students to “do what's right” stemmed from his own experience at Goldman Sachs Group Inc. The partner, who had started a new fund to invest in bankrupt firms, also controlled the list of companies that Goldman couldn't invest in because of a conflict of interest or due to sensitive information, recalled Tepper, wearing a black graduation gown, blue sash and cap with gold tassel. Cyclists tried to scare cougar but it attacked, killing 1

The two mountain bikers did what they were supposed to do when they noticed a mountain lion tailing them on a trail east of Seattle. After it charged, one even smacked the cougar with his bike, and it ran off. The second cyclist ran, and the animal dropped the first victim and pounced on him, killing him and dragging him back to what appeared to be its den, King County sheriff's Sgt. Ryan Abbott said.
