Microsoft Is Said to Have Agreed to Acquire Coding Site GitHub

Microsoft Corp. has agreed to acquire GitHub Inc., the code repository company popular with many software developers, and could announce the deal as soon as Monday, according to people familiar with the matter. GitHub preferred selling the company to going public and chose Microsoft partially because it was impressed by Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella, said one of the people, who asked not to be identified discussing private information. GitHub was last valued at $2 billion in 2015.

Trump aide says Canada's Trudeau overreacting to trade dispute

Trade frictions between the United States and Canada are a "family quarrel," President Donald Trump's economic adviser said on Sunday, brushing aside concerns expressed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as an overreaction. The Trump administration said on Thursday it was moving ahead with tariffs on aluminum and steel imports from Canada, Mexico and the European Union, ending a two-month exemption and potentially setting the stage for a trade war with some of America's top allies.

Boeing Hounding Out Newest Airbus Jetliner From U.S. to India

In the latest setback to the Toulouse, France-based manufacturer, the Indian affiliate of Singapore Airlines Ltd. opted for the 787, people familiar with the matter said, passing over the Airbus model, which along with the bigger A350 was designed to take on the Dreamliner. It follows similar lost campaigns at American Airlines Group Inc. and Hawaiian Holdings Inc., both of which scrapped their orders for Airbus jets and picked the 787 instead. Airbus in April said it'll scale back production of the A330 family as it transitions to the newer model in part due to lower than expected sales, with plans to hand over only 50 of the jets annually from next year, compared with 67 in 2017.
