Microsoft CEO Sells $36 Million in Stock; Starts Trading Plan

Microsoft Corp. Chief Executive Officer Satya Nadella has sold 328,000 shares valued at $35.9 million for financial planning reasons and is beginning a regularly scheduled trading plan for some of the equity awards he received. The sale reported in a filing Friday is the second time Nadella has sold Microsoft stock since becoming CEO in 2014. “The stock divestitures made today were for personal financial planning and diversification reasons,” Microsoft said in a statement.

Tesla Valuation Is Closer to $200, Needham Analyst Says

Aug.10 -- Rajvindra Gill, Needham & Co. senior analyst, says Elon Musk has an antagonistic relationship with investors and analysts. Gill points out that it's not guaranteed that existing shareholders are going to transition to private investors. He says that $420 per share is an "absurd" valuation and that the actual value is closer to $200. Gill projects that Tesla will burn through about two billion dollars of free cash flow next year.

Monsanto ordered to pay $289 million in world's first Roundup cancer trial

The case of school groundskeeper Dewayne Johnson was the first lawsuit to go to trial alleging glyphosate causes cancer. Monsanto, a unit of Bayer AG (BAYGn.DE) following a $62.5 billion acquisition by the German conglomerate, faces more than 5,000 similar lawsuits across the United States. The jury at San Francisco's Superior Court of California deliberated for three days before finding that Monsanto had failed to warn Johnson and other consumers of the cancer risks posed by its weed killers.
