Deere warns of lower profits in 2020 on lingering trade tensions

Deere & Co. on Wednesday warned of lower earnings next year after reporting a fall in quarterly profits, hurt by trade tensions as well as poor weather in the U.S. farm belt that has slowed equipment purchases by farmers. In response to an "uncertain" business environment, the company announced a voluntary separation program for its salary employees, which is estimated to cost it about $140 million next year, but is projected to contribute to annual savings of $150 million. The world's largest farm equipment maker said it was also reviewing its overseas footprint and would focus on growing its more profitable parts and services business....

NATO gives Boeing $1 bln deal to upgrade AWACS reconnaissance planes

NATO on Wednesday awarded Boeing Co a $1 billion contract to upgrade its fleet of AWACS reconnaissance planes, a deal officials said showed the strength of transatlantic cooperation days before an alliance summit in London. First flown in 1982 and repeatedly modernised, the Boeing-made planes, which can detect hostile aircraft, missiles, ships and other weaponry far beyond NATO borders, will be overhauled with more powerful computer processors, servers and equipment. AWACS have been flown in support of the international coalition against Islamic State, gazing deep into Syria from Turkey, as well as along NATO's eastern flank following Russia's 2014 annexation of Crimea from Ukraine....

SBI's credit card business plans IPO to raise nearly $1.25 billion

SBI Cards and Payment Services Ltd, the credit card subsidiary of State Bank of India (SBI) , India's largest lender, filed plans for an initial public offering (IPO) with the markets regulator and stock exchanges on Wednesday. The company plans to issue new shares worth 5 billion rupees and will offer up to 130.5 million shares for sale, according to the draft prospectus published by the lead managers of the deal. The prospectus does not disclose the size of the IPO which is estimated to be between 80 billion rupees ($1.1 billion) and 90 billion rupees ($1.2 billion), according to local media reports, which would make it one of the biggest ever in India....
