AnitaB.org Opens Call for Participation for Hopperx1 New York City
PALO ALTO, Calif. & NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Global nonprofit AnitaB.org announces the Call for Participation and Scholarship Applications are now open for Hopperx1 New York City which will take place in New York, November 4, 2019.
Hopperx1 New York City is modeled after the AnitaB.org Grace Hopper Celebration. The event brings together women technologists – along with leading companies from industry, academia, and research – to build relationships, learn, and advance their careers.
“Hopper events give us an opportunity to strengthen our collective, diverse voices, and showcase women innovators in various parts of the world,” said Ruchita Nigam, Engineering Manager, FaceBook, and New York Community Leader Volunteer, AnitaB.org. “We are thrilled to bring Hopperx1 back to New York and to be bringing the women of this city together to provide them with the tools and support they need to grow, learn, and develop across the entire academic and technical career path.”
There are three conference tracks for Hopperx1 New York City covering a wide range of fields for every technical woman, including:
- Career/Diversity & Inclusion – Provides a platform for speakers to discuss their experiences and strategies that have helped advance their careers and diversity and inclusion programs.
- Technology – Designed to create awareness around technical innovations and research, industry trends, prevalent challenges, untapped opportunities, and new skills needed to advance careers in areas such as AI, Machine Learning, Blockchain, and Data Science.
- Startup/Entrepreneurship – Provides a forum for learning and discussion on a variety of topics to help attendees understand what it takes to be a successful entrepreneur.
