Source Photonics Demonstrates Multi-Vendor Interoperability of Latest 400G and 100G PAM4 Technologies at OFC 2019
SAN DIEGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–lt;a href=”https://twitter.com/hashtag/100G?src=hash” target=”_blank”gt;#100Glt;/agt;–Source Photonics, a leading vendor of optical connectivity products for
Access and Datacom applications, today announced it will demonstrate the
interoperability of its latest 400G and 100G PAM4 based transceivers
with industry partners at OFC 2019 from March 5-7.
Successful interoperability between optical transceivers and hosts is
crucial to rolling out the next higher data rate connectivity. Multiple
demonstrations at Source Photonics booth #4021 and at the Ethernet
Alliance booth #4749 will show error-free traffic through a link
involving traffic generators and OEM network equipment connected with
Source Photonics’ optical transceivers.
The multi-vendor interoperability at the Source Photonics booth is
joined by partner companies, Ixia and Viavi for test capabilities, as
well as Edgecore, Quanta and Innovium for network equipment. The various
links are enabled through several modules from Source Photonics’ 400G
portfolio in QSFP-DD form factor such as the 400G-LR8 and 400G-DR4 and
the 100G-FR QSFP28. “We continue to leave our mark on an ever-changing
cloud scale networks ecosystem. Together with our partners in the
industry, we aim to bring next-generation solutions to our customers and
provide the high-speed connectivity they require,” said Manish Mehta,
EVP of PLM and Sales at Source Photonics.
“Ixia is proud to see our High Speed Ethernet K400 QSFP-DD solution
consistently playing a key role in demonstrating multi-vendor
interoperability. This live demo shows the rapidly maturing 400GE
QSFP-DD based products in the ecosystem, from proven Ixia test equipment
to optical modules to switches. The market place acceleration to adopt
400GE based on the QSFP-DD MSA form factor is well on its way,” said
Nelson Murga, Senior Systems Architect, Ixia Solutions Group, Keysight
Technologies.
“Customers are experiencing explosive growth in data traffic and looking
forward to aggressively deploy 400G in their networks. Innovium, a
leading provider of low-latency, programmable 12.8T switch silicon with
unmatched telemetry and power efficiency, is enabling customers build
the next generation of 100/200/400G networks,” said Amit Sanyal, VP of
Product Management and Marketing at Innovium. “Innovium is excited to
partner with Source Photonics to demonstrate interoperability of Source
Photonics’ 400G QSFP-DD optics modules with Innovium’s industry-leading
12.8Tbps TERALYNX™ switch silicon.”
