Suze Orman shares the biggest money mistake that almost everyone makes

No matter what your main financial goal is — a house , early retirement or just getting out of debt — odds are you'd like to boost your income. As Suze Orman , financial expert and former CNBC host, told the audience at the 2017 eMerge Americas conference, "The biggest problem is when you do make it big and you don't know what to do with your money. Because then, what happens is some financial advisor is going to come by and give you a slick presentation , they're going to give you an elevator speech and a pitch, and you're going to take it.

Musk Says Tesla Hit With ‘Extensive’ Sabotage by Rogue Employee

A disgruntled Tesla Inc. employee broke into the company’s manufacturing operating system and sent highly sensitive data to unknown third parties, according to an email Elon Musk sent to staff. The worker, who had been denied a promotion, did “quite extensive and damaging sabotage” to Tesla’s operations, Musk wrote in the memo late Sunday, which was reported in full by CNBC. Tesla is conducting an in-depth investigation into the matter, including whether the employee was acting alone, with others at the company or with any outside organizations, Musk wrote.

Why Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) Stock Hit New High Monday

Advanced Micro Devices AMD saw its stock price pop over 5% on Monday to hit a new 11-year high on the back of positive analyst sentiment, which also pointed directly to its ability to compete against chip giant Intel INTC. “Along with recent announcements of new server deals with Cisco CSCO/Tencent TCEHY and the crystallization of our 7nm AMD versus 10nm Intel thesis, we are increasingly confident in upside to AMD shares," analyst Matthew Ramsay wrote in a note to clients last Thursday. Ramsay believes that AMD’s transition to its brand new 7nm AMD Radeon Vega GPU products, which are set to launch at some point in 2018, will be hugely beneficial.

These Banks Are Seen Paying Out The Most To Investors After Stress Test

The majority of America's biggest banks are expected to pay shareholders more than they earn for the first time since the 2008 financial crisis, despite this year's tougher stress test, and the likes of JPMorgan Chase (JPM), Bank of America (BAC) and Wells Fargo (WFC) are leading the charge. The Federal Reserve will report Dodd-Frank stress-test results on Thursday, showing which banks' capital holdings passed or failed regulators' scenarios of economic downturns. The following Thursday, June 28, the Fed will release the results of its Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review, which determines how much capital the banks are allowed to return to shareholders.

Pros and Cons of Buying Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK.B) Stock

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (NYSE: BRK.A, BRK.B) stock is the Taj Mahal of company stocks, long known for its sky-high Class A share price and for its iconic -- and refreshingly unassuming -- chairman, president and CEO, Warren Buffett. The Omaha, Nebraska-based company operates in the financial services sector (particularly insurance) and also operates in the freight transportation, real estate brokerage, energy, utility and diversified manufacturing sectors. The company, founded in 1889, boasts 377,000 employees, and many staffers are likely wondering what a post-Buffett Berkshire Hathaway would look like.

Lam, Applied Materials stocks fall, but Stifel remains upbeat despite memory push-out concerns

Shares of Lam Research Corp. and Applied Materials Inc. are down in premarket trading, though Stifel analyst Patrick Ho reiterated his long-term optimism about the names following recent reports of memory shipment push-outs. "We believe these are attributable to Samsung, and primarily on the 3D NAND front," Ho wrote. "We remind investors that Samsung has been Lam's largest customer for many years now (going back to the early 2000s when the company began working aggressively with Samsung)." Ho remains upbeat in his long-term view of Lam, which he rates a buy, and the industry in general.

3 "Internet of Things" Stocks to Buy Right Now

Semiconductor stocks have been the subject of unpredictable volatility so far this year, but the underlying business of this industry is growing—and should continue that trend in 2018 and beyond. Throughout the chip-making space, companies have successfully adapted to the changing needs of the consumer, including an increased demand for small, high-powered chips that enable “Internet of Things” (IoT) devices. For those that don’t know, the Internet of Things is the growing world of interconnected household and industrial devices.

Valeant’s Rebound Falters After Key Drug Is Rejected

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc.’s rebound from this year’s low in March was stopped in its tracks after U.S. regulators rejected its application for a plaque psoriasis lotion, Duobrii, that management saw as the first of many new drugs to hit the market in the next few years. Trading volume was more than 1.5 times the full-day average of the past three months as investors retreated even after the company pointed out that the Food and Drug Administration’s ruling was related to its pharmacokinetic data and said management is working to “resolve this matter expeditiously” and has already requested a meeting with regulators. Wells Fargo analyst David Maris warned that an approval may be delayed by six to nine months depending on Valeant’s need to generate additional data.

Trade War Fears Grip Wall Street: Buy 5 Ultra-Safe Stocks

The United States has targeted a flurry of Chinese goods, while China has vowed to respond with tariffs of its own, which could hurt U.S. businesses. The White House will impose a 25% tariff on $50 billion Chinese imports, which has increased the chances of a confrontation with China over trade.. The United States has decided to penalize China for stealing American technology and of course trade secrets.

5 Chip Stocks At Risk In Expanding Trade War

Semiconductor manufacturers have enjoyed rapid sales growth and soaring stock prices, but the good times are threatened by the mounting trade war between the U.S. and China. In particular, most chips imported to the U.S. from China are actually designed by U.S.-based companies that outsource production there, or use Chinese firms for final assembly and testing, as reported by The Wall Street Journal. Tariffs on imports from China, as well as restrictions on transfers of technology to China, are likely to hit these U.S.-based semiconductor companies hard: Intel Corp. ( INTC), Qualcomm Inc. ( QCOM), Texas Instruments Inc. ( TXN), Applied Materials Inc. ( AMAT) and Lam Research Corp. ( LRCX).
