Bet on 4 High-Flying Stocks With Increasing Cash Flows

If achieving profit is a company’s goal then having healthy cash flow is most essential to its existence, development and success. Admittedly, investors flock to companies that earn profits, but even a profitable business can succumb to failure if its cash flow is irregular and eventually file for bankruptcy. To figure out this efficiency, one needs to consider a company’s net cash flow.

Friday offered a bit of something for bears and bulls off and on the price chart of JD.com, Inc. (ADR) (NASDAQ:JD). JD.com, China’s ‘other’, but increasingly less secret Amazon.com, Inc (NASDAQ:AMZN) released its latest corporate confessional this past Thursday night — and by some measures the results were less than terrific. Off the price chart, JD.com announced an earnings miss of four cents on profits of 5 cents a share and a penny worse than last year’s quarterly take-down of 6 cents, urging bears and some shareholders into action.

Why Did Micron (MU) Stock Surge on Monday?

Shares Micron MU climbed nearly 6% on Monday to hit a new 52-week high of $52.03 per share, marking MU’s first close above $50 since September 2000. This substantial move from the semiconductor giant did not follow any real breaking news, but this a great time to see what Micron has been up to recently that might have facilitated this surge. Last month, Micron announced that it appointed a new senior vice president and chief financial officer, David Zinsner, to succeed Ernie Maddock.

As New Tax Laws Take Effect, Check Your Withholding Amount

The IRS advises that you complete a new W-4 every year, and also when your "personal or financial situation changes"--a big raise, marriage, have a child, etc. If you remember to do this regularly, congratulations; you're a step ahead of most people, I would suspect. If you haven't revisited this form for a few years, now is a good time. The IRS updated the income-tax withholding tables for 2018 to reflect changes made by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act at the end of 2017. (The IRS has also updated its withholding calculator to help you compute the ideal tax withholding amount in light of the tax-law changes; more on that below.) Because of the changes to the tax brackets, checking your withholding

Price of Gold Fundamental Daily Forecast – Prices Could Weaken if Trump Gives in to Political Pressure Over Tariffs

Gold prices rose to their highest level since February 27 early Monday before settling lower for the session. Investors bought gold early in the session as a protectionist measure against political uncertainty in Italy and on fears of a global trade war in reaction to President Trump’s announcement of tariffs on imported steels and aluminum. The easing of tensions over Italy and the possibility of a trade war helped boost the dollar, driving down gold into the close.

Europe's Retaliatory Steel Tariffs Take Aim at Tiny Target

Europeans might hanker after blue jeans and Kentucky bourbon, but they don’t have much appetite for American steel. Of the almost 40 million metric tons of the metal that the European Union imports every year, less than 1 percent -- or about 250,000 tons -- comes from the U.S. Existing trade protections make American steel costlier, even before any retaliatory measures the region may impose if President Donald Trump enacts the 25 percent tariff he announced last week. As a net importer, the U.S. also has less to spare. That means most of Europe’s imports come from Russia and Asia instead.
