At this pace, money-losing Tesla (TSLA) will be worth more than 126-year old industrial powerhouse (one-time?) General Electric (GE) . GE shares continue to fall out of favor with investors as it struggles with a host of issues. From a recent cut to its dividend to a material earnings restatement for 2016 and 2017, with each passing day it seems GE's once beloved stock hits new lows. Shares have plunged 52% over the past year, and now hover around $14. Not even GE's 3.3% dividend yield is attracting investors who are perpetually on the search for yield in this low interest rate environment. GE's market cap at last glance: $127 billion. Then there is Tesla, a budding industrial powerhouse. Despite
A real estate agent has suggested selling it for $565,000, as a duplex, or converting it to condominiums and selling each for $300,000. “That will defer federal capital gain taxes due on the sale of the property, continue to receive monthly/quarterly income and eliminate any requirement to manage the property,” he said.

Filing for bankruptcy protection creates more uncertainty about how women who allege they are victims of Weinstein could be compensated. The scuppered deal had a provision for a victims' fund, but in bankruptcy the women may now be treated as unsecured creditors that can recoup only pennies on the dollar for their claims. The Weinstein Company had been close to inking an agreement this month to be taken over by investors led by former Obama administration official Maria Contreras-Sweet for more than $500 million, but a lawsuit filed by New York's Attorney General Eric Schneiderman on Feb. 11 complicated the negotiations.

Obamacare premiums will rise and coverage levels will fall if the Trump administration’s plan to expand the use of cheaper and less comprehensive insurance policies is enacted, according to a new analysis from the Urban Institute. Last week, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar announced that the administration intends to change the rules governing short-term, limited-duration insurance plans, making them available for 364-day terms, up from three months under the current guidelines. The plans are intended to provide health insurance for people who have temporary gaps in coverage and are typically less expensive than plans available through the Obamacare markets, in large part because they do not have to provide the 10 essential benefits defined by the Affordable Care Act.

Gun makers are again the center of a national debate over how to put an end to mass shootings, and their stocks are trading like things are different this time. Several major U.S. companies have dropped their associations with the National Rifle Association in the last few days, less than two weeks after a 19 year old with a semi-automatic rifle killed 17 people in a high school in Florida. Student protests and calls for action have stayed in the headlines, and politicians are under pressure to enact new gun safety rules. As with deadly shootings in the past, some of the focus has been on the companies that make the weapons and ammunition and the people and companies that own them. Shareholder
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella on Monday suggested that Microsoft could grow more from its Office 365 line of cloud productivity apps than anything in the company's 43-year history. With business editions of Office 365, Microsoft faces competition from Google, as well as younger players like Box and Dropbox, in the race to get companies collaborating in apps running on remote cloud servers. "The growth opportunity for what is Office 365 is a lot bigger than anything we've achieved, even with our high penetration in the client-server world," Nadella said at the Morgan Stanley Technology Media and Telecom conference in San Francisco. A U.S. appeals court says the Federal Trade Commission can police telecommunications companies like AT&T — a ruling that's important because another agency is dropping its oversight with repeal of "net neutrality" rules governing customer access to apps and websites. The case is over claims that AT&T misled smartphone customers in offering unlimited data plans, but slowing speeds for heavy users. By law, only the Federal Communications Commission can take action against a common carrier — a provider of essential services such as landline or mobile voice service.
Buffett: I've not given a directive on gun-maker stocks 1 Hour Ago | 03:39 Business leaders should be careful not to impose their personal views on their organizations, billionaire investor Warren Buffett told CNBC on Monday as companies sought to distance themselves from the National Rifle Association after the mass shooting at a high school in Flordia.
