20-year internet industry veteran joins executive team of mobile advertising innovator
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–lt;a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/mobileadvertising?src=hash" target="_blank"gt;#mobileadvertisinglt;/agt;–Shuttlerock, the pre-eminent provider of mobile-first creative, today announced the appointment of internet industry veteran Michael Steckler as its chief revenue officer. Steckler joins the mobile video advertising company from New York City-based digital and creative agency SocialCode, where he held the same position.
Shuttlerock’s proprietary platform leverages designers and technology to quickly create high-performance mobile video ads using a single visual asset as simple as a still photo.
“I have watched Shuttlerock’s rapid industry ascent with admiration and interest, so I am particularly pleased to come aboard and contribute to its continued success and future expansion,” said Steckler. “eMarketer found that U.S. video advertising spend across social platforms like Facebook and Instagram is expected to reach $12.48B in 2020, so the market opportunity for our solutions – with both agencies and brands alike – is considerable. In addition to the U.S., we see substantial potential for expansion in EMEA and APAC.”
Earlier in his career, Steckler worked at Microsoft, where he held a variety of roles including planning and development director of EMEA. In 2007, Steckler joined AOL and oversaw all of its U.K. and Benelux advertising operations and sales. From 2010 to 2017, he served in a number of executive roles at Criteo, a Paris-based internet advertising company.
“Michael’s background in digital advertising is one of the most extensive I’ve seen, and his track record of success is just as impressive,” said Jonny Hendriksen, CEO and founder of Shuttlerock. “We are very excited to have him join our executive team and expect that he will be at the forefront of charting our strategic growth in 2019 and beyond.”
Steckler received a Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of Sussex. He currently serves as an advisor to New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, the country’s governmental agency that is chartered with helping New Zealand companies expand their global reach.
