MercuryGate also announced the appointment of Joe Evangelisto as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to lead the strategy and oversee operations of the company’s enterprise information assets, practices and procedures.

The newly created role represents a key differentiator in the transportation management industry and will be a key advantage for company’s recently announced international expansion in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Evangelisto has worked in the IT field for more than 20 years. Most recently he served as Chief Information Security Officer for a Life Sciences company where he built their information security program from the ground up.

MercuryGate TMS SOC 1® Type II and SOC 2 Type 1 Certifications

For the third year in a row MercuryGate’s TMS application has achieved SOC 1 Type II certification validated by independent audit firm Schellman. In addition, the TMS application has also achieved SOC 2 Type I certification highlighting MercuryGate’s continued and ongoing commitment to the security of systems and customers. Worldwide companies like MercuryGate participate in SOC 1® and SOC 2® audits to validate they are providing a service that is secure, available, works as expected, protects their customer while providing confidentiality and privacy. These SOC examinations are performed annually by independent third-party auditors and provide a description of the controls, the tests performed to assess them, the results of these tests, and an overall opinion on the design and operational effectiveness of the same.

The SOC 2® Type II examination, performed by independent audit firm Skoda Minotti, tested policy and procedure controls of the TSI MyEZClaim System for security, availability, confidentiality and processing integrity. MercuryGate received a service auditor’s report with an unqualified opinion demonstrating that their policies, procedures and infrastructure meet or exceed the stringent SOC 2® criteria.
