Digital Accessibility Company Saves $1.7 Million Annually with UltiPro Perception

WESTON, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–$ULTI #HCM–Ultimate Software, a leading global provider of human capital management (HCM) and employee experience solutions in the cloud, announced today that Level Access, the leader in digital accessibility solutions, used UltiPro Perception to control turnover and boost employee morale, saving $1.7 million annually.

Level Access strives to create a world where digital systems can be made readily accessible to users with disabilities and the growing aging population—enabling digital technology to become a profound empowering force in their lives. The company’s industry-leading software, training, and consulting solutions help customers achieve and sustain their digital accessibility compliance objectives, while enabling them to qualify for more contracts and reach more customers. Level Access selected UltiPro to take advantage of the solution’s suite of employee-facing applications, including UltiPro Perception, and went live in April 2018.

In response to employee-engagement concerns, Level Access’s human resources department began leveraging UltiPro Perception to conduct short, weekly pulse surveys, including open-text responses, to gain greater insight into the employee experience. The survey results were instantly available in UltiPro Perception, and shared with the leadership team.

“UltiPro Perception has enabled us to address turnover and morale issues, saving $1.7 million annually due to lower attrition and recruiting costs,” said Colleen Wood, chief people officer at Level Access. “Through UltiPro Perception, we truly understand our employees and have given our employees a voice into the business. Our mission is to help people with disabilities use technology, and we can reinvest this savings to accelerate the way we are changing the world.”

Wood reports that, quarter over quarter, overall turnover dropped 18 percent with UltiPro Perception. Wood attributes this improvement in turnover to the doubling of employee engagement, which the company measured through UltiPro Perception’s Employee Sentiment Score (ESS). Wood explained that the company’s weekly pulse survey always includes the standard UltiPro Perception ESS question, which drives the company’s benchmark measure of employee engagement. The ESS is derived from open text, and UltiPro Perception is able to use language cues to identify whether an employee is a promoter, detractor, or passive related to their employer as a place to work.

“UltiPro Perception’s value lies in its ability to drive meaningful, executive-sponsored action plans, and our results earned us an Ultimate Software Innovation Award in 2019,” said Wood. “Behind our impressive savings is a data-based strategy that focused on listening to, then acting on employee feedback. We are proud of the results and for Ultimate’s recognition.”

Wood noted that Level Access will continue to pulse employees weekly, thanks to UltiPro Perception’s easy survey administration and simple user experience.

“UltiPro Perception has proven to be an invaluable tool and the pulse surveys are easy to create. With the ease of use, we are able to change the survey topics from week to week to make sure we are gathering relevant information.”

“UltiPro Perception not only provides valuable insight into the mind of the employee, but also delivers insights that a company’s leadership can address immediately,” said Chris Phenicie, chief sales officer, mid-market and strategic, at Ultimate. “The business savings from targeted, responsive action can be significant, and we are pleased to see Level Access achieve such impressive results.”
