Kinder Morgan (KMI) Stock Edges Higher on Q2 Earnings Beat

Kinder Morgan (NYSE:KMI) reported its latest quarterly earnings results after the bell on Wednesday, which included an earnings beat despite the company posting a loss. For its second quarter of fiscal 2018, the oil and natural gas pipeline managing company brought in a loss of roughly $141 million, which amounted to about 8 cents per share after reporting a profit in its second quarter of fiscal 2017. On an adjusted basis, the company's earnings were a profit of 21 cents per share.

Alcoa cuts adjusted EBITDA forecast citing tariffs, shares slide

The company's shares fell 2 percent in after-market trading, dragging shares of rival Century Aluminum Co down 1 percent. Alcoa now expects adjusted EBITDA to range between $3.0 billion and $3.2 billion, compared to its previous forecast of $3.5 billion to $3.7 billion. U.S. President Donald Trump imposed tariffs of 25 percent on imports of steel and 10 percent on aluminum on countries including Canada and Mexico and the European Union that went into effect in June.
