Elliott says considering $18.5 billion deal for Oncor
Warren Buffet’s Berkshire Hathaway (BRKa.N) made a $9 billion offer on Friday for Oncor’s parent, Energy Future Holdings Corp, valuing the utility at $18.1 billion. Elliott, run by billionaire Paul Singer, said on Monday it was working on a $9.3 billion offer for Energy Future. In a letter to the board of Energy Future, Elliott said it would support a deal with Berkshire or a third party if those bids exceeded the value proposed by the hedge fund.
